We Asked for Your Parenting Victories. Here Are Some of the Highlights.

In an extremely trying time, positive stories can shine through and provide a much-needed burst of hope. We’ve seen it with John Krasinski’s Some Good News, a truly uplifting and fun update on the good in the world, and now we’ve seen it with all of you wonderful parents!

We asked you to share your parenting victories during this extended time at home with your kids, and the responses we received are nothing short of inspiring. Here are just a few of the responses we got. We hope these stories from parents just like you will give you a bit of energizing hope today.

Parenting Victories

“My teen’s birthday was Tuesday. It’s been so sad canceling the celebrations we had planned, so my husband suggested putting a sign in our front yard: ‘HONK to wish Bethany a Happy Birthday.’ People were honking all day long. It was so touching to hear strangers (and some friends who drove out of their way) supporting her. Neighbors we barely knew brought cookies and birthday wishes. Best birthday party ever!”

— Roxanne

“Using our time stuck together, we decided to make time capsules which we plan to open in 2030.”

— Janet

“My 16-year-old daughter and I have spent time lately cooking together, which I just love. She needs to learn how to cook, it is fun to do together and normally we just don’t seem to have time. She has even gone on a couple of walks with me lately, and we see other teens out walking with their parents…Those are the positives! Believe me, there are attitude issues to be worked through but praise the Lord for the positives. I really believe God is calling us to reconnect with Him and our families, refresh and renew and realign with His purposes. Amazing opportunity for us to pursue Him wholeheartedly.”

We started watching The Chosen TV series together in the evenings. (With four kids ages 12-18.) We’ve all loved it and it has sparked good conversation.”

— Jeannie

“We started playing wiffle ball after dinner and then watching The Wonder Years.”
